In the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak, the stories from the frontlines about China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) have drawn attention from around the world。

The time-lapse videos of the construction of the Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospitals garnered huge public attention on overseas social media platforms, accumulating over 930,000 views。
On Jan。 24, an aerial video of the construction site of the Huoshenshan Hospital landed on the news page on Twitter, receiving 4。3 million views within the first 24 hours。 By now, it has been viewed 6。07 million times and received responses from 1。8 million users around the world。
After that, the construction was broadcasted multiple times by Chinese mainstream media outlets. Viewers around the world saw with their own eyes the enormous efforts the construction entailed.
The projects also attracted attention from foreign mainstream media organizations such as CNN, BBC, and ABC. Despite varying perspectives, all were awed by the dazzling speed of China’s infrastructure construction.
Invigorating stories from the frontlines
CSCEC’s news as well as stories of its employees have been made available in four foreign languages (English, French, Arabic, and Russian), and they are being shared through 15 foreign language official websites and 34 overseas social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, covering 1。05 million followers。
On Facebook, CSCEC told a series of stories about its employees on the frontlines of the battle against the epidemic。 The stories, like one about Zheng Hongsheng and his wife fighting against the epidemic and another one of Luo Wenhao naming his newborn daughter, tagged on many heartstrings, and praises and good wishes poured in from all over the world。
International employees from overseas branches sent their encouragements and prayers as well.
CSCEC also gave real-time updates on Twitter about its progress on the frontlines. The contents have been repeatedly retweeted by Zhao Lijian, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Many well-followed Twitter accounts also took avid interest in CSCEC’s news feed, including Cao Yi, consul and chief of the Administrative Office at the Embassy of China in Lebanon, and Mian Abrar, a famous Pakistan media personality, as well as Chinese Embassies in Albania and Turkey, and the Pakistan Embassy in Cambodia.
Experience in epidemic prevention and control
In a recent press conference in China, an official from the World Health Organization praised China’s approach to containing the rapid spread of 2019-nCoV, saying that it has here in China “the only successful measures we know so far to contain COVID-19。”

On Feb. 23, CSCEC Egypt held a press conference at the construction site of its Central Business District project in Egypt’s new administrative capital, introducing their measures in balancing sensible precautions and stable operations. Doctors of the project’s clinics shared their perspectives and analysis of the transmission patterns of 2019-nCoV, and important information on epidemic prevention and control. The subsidiary also launched a large-scale fundraising campaign, in an effort to contribute to the area’s epidemic prevention and control.
